Vote Neil Foley - He Will Continue to Improve Quality of Life Neil Foley Announce First Brookhaven Highway Department Safety Day

Superintendent Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley Announce First Brookhaven Highway Department Safety Day

Safety Town Highway Safety Daysmmm

Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley are working together to host an event that will improve motorists safety, instill safe bicycling habits in children and ensure participants have their child safety seats installed correctly. Many demonstrations and interactive displays from law enforcement and emergency services will be present. Just one example is pedalcars that will simulate the negative impacts of driving while intoxicated. Brookhaven Highway Safety Day is taking place Saturday, September 19th at Safety Town, located within the grounds of the Holtsville Ecology Site.
During the event, a car seat inspection will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, a bicycle rodeo will be held from noon to 3 p.m. and highway safety demonstrations will be performed from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All events are free.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to learn about so many different aspects of traffic safety, ranging from the correct way to install a child car seat to just how dangerous texting and driving is,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “I want to thank everyone for working together and holding this event in the best interest of public safety.”
“One of the best things you can do for your family is make sure you get home safely,” said Councilman Neil Foley. “I strongly recommend residents participate in this event and listen to all of the advice being offered from the law enforcement and emergency services experts. It has been very gratifying working with Superintendent Losquadro to host this event for Brookhaven residents.”
Certified technicians from the EAC Network, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Suffolk County Police Department and Brookhaven Highway Department will be on site to inspect car seats and provide parents with essential information about child passenger safety. Inspections are by appointment only.
During the Bicycle Safety Rodeo, instructors will teach children how to develop strong safety habits at a young age. Children who participate will get to use their bicycles within the miniature village located at Safety Town, where they can experience first-hand how to apply what they learn from instructors. Free bicycle helmets will be available for qualifying residents on a first come, first served basis. Participants must bring their own bikes.
Members of the Holtsville Fire Department, Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Long Island ABATE and Empire State Motorcycle Safety Education Program will also conduct highway safety demonstrations and provide useful information. Through simulators, residents will be able to experience first-hand the dangers of texting and drinking and driving

Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley - Re-Election Goals and Ideas 5 for 5 Series From Greater Patchogue News

From Greater Patchogue - News for the people of Patchogue and its Suburbs:
'5 for 5' with town candidate Neil Foley

As part of our “5 for 5” series — designed to help GreaterPatchogue.com readers better navigate the 2015 Elections — we asked Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley to give us five great ideas, or policy goals, that could be set in motion in the next five years.
Foley, 47, is a Blue Point resident and the incumbent councilman in Brookhaven Town’s Fifth Council District. He’s running for re-election on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party lines.
Election Day is Nov. 3.
A Medford community center
This is an idea that has been discussed for nearly a decade, but has never materialized. It’s past time this much-needed resource for our residents and their children becomes a reality.
Turn our eyes to Main Street, E. Patchogue
Downtown Patchogue has seen a remarkable revitalization over the past several years. This progress has to continue outside the incorporated village eastward. To do this we’ll need to provide economic incentives to businesses, take proactive steps to address long-term problem properties, such as we did with the Plaza Theater, and lobby the county, state and federal government to make critical improvements to sewers, roads and transportation in the area.
Better places to have a nice day
This includes replacing antiquated equipment at existing playgrounds, building new or upgraded ballfields, purchasing new property to expand recreation opportunities, and providing creative uses of existing open space as passive recreation facilities, such as we did at the Swan River Preserve in East Patchogue.
Invest in our infrastructure
From crumbling jetties at the mouth of the Patchogue River to roads that are decades old, we need to make long-term investments in our neighborhoods to critical infrastructure. This includes sidewalks, drainage projects, shoreline hardening and other major projects that will pay dividends for years to come.
Strengthen our finances for taxpayers
Brookhaven finances have taken great strides under the leadership of Supervisor Ed Romaine and this Town Board, but we need to continue our vigilance to strengthen municipal finances. That’s why I support Supervisor Romaine’s three point plan to end deficit spending, rebuild the town’s budget surplus and impose budget accountability for all town departments.

Tell Us More Mr. Alex Piccirillo Like What Are Your Accomplishments ?

Sachem alum Alex Piccirillo is running for Councilman for the Town of Brookhaven’s 5th District, which covers all of Patchogue, East Patchogue, and Blue Point, parts of Medford, Ronkonkoma, Holbrook, Holtsville, and Fire Island.
A third generation Sachem alum, he graduated from Sachem High School in 2002. The Holtsville resident received an A.A. from Suffolk Community College in Liberal Arts, and a B.A. from Saint Joseph’s College in English literature and secondary education. He is also a varsity assistant basketball coach on the boy’s team at Sachem North.
Is this IT ???  This is his track record ??   Is this who you  want as your Councilman for  the Town of Brookhaven's 5th District ??
You are full of great ideas Mr. Alex Piccirillo, but Mr. Neil J. Foley has great accomplishments:

  • Removed 9 Zombie Houses through demolition and board & secures, holding banks accountable
